About

I grew up in Arnold, a small mountain town in Calaveras County, California, and lived in the area until leaving to earn a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

While I’ve spent time living in Santa Cruz, the Bay Area and the Midwest, I’ve always considered Calaveras County my home, and moved back to the area in 2016.

In 2018, I began writing freelance pieces on local history for the Calaveras Enterprise, and soon took on the role of full-time reporter, a position I held until 2021.

In 2020, I became the editor of the Calaveras County Historical Society’s quarterly bulletin, Las Calaveras, and joined the board of the Old Timers Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving local history.

In 2022, I began working at the Calaveras County Museum in San Andreas as the assistant director. As I spent hours combing through the archives, I realized how much historical research in places like Calaveras County depends on good local journalism.

This realization prompted me to take the position of the editor of the Calaveras Enterprise in March of 2023. I held the position for six months, until leaving in August to pursue new opportunities.
